When the audio format set in Presentation does not match that set in the system configuration you will typically get an error:

Presentation will throw an error if system configured sound format does not match that of Presentation's Experiment.

Presentation will throw an error if the system configured sound format does not match that of Presentation’s experiment.

The solution can be to either change the Presentation settings (BEWARE: match these to your actual audio files or you risk misrepresenting them to your participants!) or change the system settings.

System settings can be changed by going to START >> Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Sound >> Tab: Playback >> Select: (active) Speakers >> Properties >> tab: Advanced >> then select the correct format from the dropdown menu and hit Apply.
